Who am I?

My name is Krista, and I specialize in educational consulting with a focus on socio-emotional learning, culturally responsive pedagogy, and trauma-informed education. I am passionate about helping educators transform their teaching practices to better serve all students, particularly those from underserved backgrounds. I am delighted to have you here.

Educational Background

M.Ed from Texas A&M University, where I have deepened and refined my expertise in curriculum design, technology, and educational best practices. B.A in Interdisciplinary Studies from University of Texas at San Antonio. Prior to my graduate studies, I spent time as a research fellow at UTSA working hand in hand with Educational Department Chairs, Scientists, PhDs, and fellow researches. Throughout my fellowship I researched, published, and presented on the very concepts I now help educators implement in their classrooms. My rich collegiate experience has equipped me with a thorough understanding of the academic and practical aspects of socio-emotional learning, culturally responsive pedagogy, and trauma-informed education.

My Approach

Throughout my career as an educator, I have worked with a myriad of demographics. I have seen firsthand how these practices can transform the learning environment and lead to outstanding academic growth. My approach is rooted in the belief that all students, regardless of their background or circumstances, deserve a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. For me, these practices come naturally. As a first generation college student, and product of an underserved educational system, I knew I wanted to ignite systemic change within education. This became my sole focus, with all of time, energy, and passion poured into it. In my first year, I witnessed the fruits of my labors. Each subsequent year, the success remains profound. By guiding educators in the implementation of socio-emotional learning, culturally responsive pedagogy, and trauma-informed education, I have helped countless individuals create classrooms where students thrive.
